The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced, meticulous, and proactive Road Freight Operator to manage end-to-end freight forwarding operations. This isn't just about moving goods; it's about owning the entire process, ensuring seamless service from collection to delivery, with full responsibility for crucial customs compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of road freight movements across the UK and Europe (Groupage, Part Load, Full Load).
  • Handle all associated documentation, ensuring absolute accuracy.
  • Execute end-to-end customs procedures, including import and export declarations, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
  • Liaise extensively with customers, hauliers, overseas agents, and internal departments.
  • Negotiate rates and procure services from transport providers to maximise profitability and service quality.
  • Proactively monitor shipments, troubleshoot potential issues, and provide timely updates to clients.

What You Bring

  • Proven experience as a Road Freight Operator or similar role within a freight forwarding environment.
  • Essential hands-on experience and strong knowledge of customs procedures (HMRC declarations, CDS).
  • Excellent organisational and multitasking skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Strong commercial acumen and negotiation abilities.
  • A 'can-do' attitude and a desire to contribute positively to a high-performing team.
