Thorn Baker Industrial Recruitment are recruiting for Public Waste Collectors / Refuse Loaders to support a busy local authority waste management operation on a temporary, ongoing basis. This is a physically active outdoor role involving the collection of household and recycling waste across the local area. Candidates must be comfortable working in all weather conditions and starting work early in the morning.
The Role
- Collecting household waste and recycling from residential and public locations
- Loading and unloading bins onto refuse and tipper vehicles
- Driving a council vehicle between collection points when required
- Working as part of a refuse collection and waste management team
- Ensuring all waste is handled safely and efficiently
- Providing a professional and positive service to the public
Requirements
- Full UK Driving Licence required; we cannot consider candidates without a FULL UK Driving Licence and own transport
- Ability to commute for early morning starts from 6:00am
- Physically fit and comfortable carrying out manual handling duties
- Reliable, punctual and able to work as part of a team
- Previous experience within refuse collection, waste management, recycling or outdoor manual work is beneficial but not essential
