We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Childcare Worker to join a professional care team supporting children and young people with complex needs, including emotional and behavioural challenges. This full-time role involves providing consistent, nurturing, and structured care within a supportive residential environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality day-to-day care and emotional support to children and young people
- Build positive, trusting relationships that promote emotional well-being and development
- Support children in achieving their personal, social, and educational goals
- Maintain a safe, clean, and engaging home environment in line with safeguarding and health & safety policies
- Assist with care planning, daily routines, and behaviour management strategies
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to reports for internal and external professionals
- Promote independence, confidence, and self-esteem through tailored support and encouragement
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience working with children or young people, particularly in a residential or supported care setting
- Understanding of trauma-informed care and behavioural support strategies
- Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to stay calm under pressure and handle challenging behaviours constructively
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people
