Join our Clients Estates team as a Maintenance Electrician, where you will play a crucial role in the maintenance and operation of the extensive property portfolio. This position offers the opportunity to work within a dynamic team, ensuring the smooth operation and safety of electrical systems across a varied estate.

Day‑to‑Day Responsibilities:

  • Perform maintenance and repairs on power and lighting systems, including ancillary equipment across university-owned properties.
  • Conduct routine inspections, maintenance, and testing of the low voltage electrical network, fire alarm, and emergency lighting systems.
  • Supervise and assist in routine maintenance tasks, ensuring compliance with statutory legislation and industry standards.
  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical equipment for both permanent fixtures and temporary events.
  • Engage with specialist contractors, providing supervision and liaison to ensure quality and compliance.
  • Utilise provided technology to record job details, risk assessments, and other relevant data.
  • Participate in the maintenance team's call-out rota, providing out-of-hours support as needed.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Recognised apprenticeship or equivalent qualifications in Electrical Installation or Maintenance.
  • Relevant certifications such as 18th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations to BS7671.
  • Proven experience in electrical maintenance, with strong fault-finding skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Good computer literacy, particularly in using tablets and CAFM systems.
  • Strong communication skills and a client-facing attitude, with a focus on customer care.
  • 2391 is desirable but not essential.
