ISQ Recruitment is recruiting for an experienced Truck Technician to join a busy commercial vehicle maintenance operation based in Reading. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a respected and growing automotive business that invests heavily in its people, training, and long-term career development. This role will suit a qualified HGV Technician who enjoys varied work across heavy goods vehicles, trailers, and fleet maintenance. You will be responsible for keeping customer vehicles safe, compliant, and roadworthy, while working within a supportive technical team and modern workshop environment. The successful candidate will have strong diagnostic and repair skills, a positive approach to teamwork, and a genuine commitment to high-quality workmanship.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out major and minor repairs on heavy goods vehicles, trailers, and associated vehicles
  • Complete routine inspections, servicing, and preventative maintenance
  • Diagnose vehicle faults and work with the wider repair team to plan effective repairs
  • Maintain accurate records of work completed and ensure all paperwork is completed correctly
  • Keep the workshop clean, safe, and organised
  • Support with roadside or emergency repair requirements when needed
  • Ensure all work is carried out safely and in line with compliance standards
Candidate Requirements
  • Level 3 qualification in HGV Vehicle Repair and Maintenance, such as NVQ, City & Guilds, or IMI
  • Experience working on HGVs, trucks, trailers, or commercial vehicles
  • Strong understanding of DVSA standards and vehicle compliance
  • Ability to identify worn or faulty components accurately
  • Full UK driving licence, ideally with relevant vehicle categories
  • Reliable, professional, and able to work well as part of a team
Working Hours

4 on 4 off shift pattern, 06:00 to 18:00

Overtime opportunities available Saturday overtime paid at enhanced rate where applicable
