Salary: Up to £34,000

Our client is seeking an enthusiastic and passionate learner focused Health and Social Care Tutor to deliver high quality, supportive and engaging qualifications to candidates enrolled onto their programmes. You will be delivering Adult Care qualification up to level 5.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Engage and support learners with some blended delivery and workplace observation to achieve qualifications in a timely manner.
  • Manage a caseload of learners effectively meeting OFSTED and Awarding Bodies requirements in teaching, learning and assessment for learners.
  • Managing caseloads to ensure that KPIs are met.
  • Undertake induction, initial assessment, diagnostic, ILP, skills scan and reviews with learners ensuring feedback provided and acted upon appropriately.
  • Develop scheme of work, lesson plans and course resources for the delivery of the qualifications.
  • Maintain regular contact with employers throughout the full learning journey.
  • Establish strategies for dealing with poor attendance, punctuality, behaviour and class performance as well as keeping registers and other student information as required by funding rules and for statistical purposes.

Other Duties:

  • Support learners in developing their practice through standardisation and sharing best practices.
  • Promote a high-performance and positive culture where learners are enthused and motivated to perform their best through supportive and professional leadership and management.
  • Assess knowledge and understanding through teaching, learning, and assessment.
  • Support learners in developing their behaviours relating to their apprenticeship.
  • Assist in the coordination of learners exams.
  • Overcome barriers to learning and adapt delivery to meet learners' needs.
  • Understand and work on key performance indicators.
  • Be a proactive team player, possessing practical organisational and planning skills, including the ability to manage your diary and caseload.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Possess an Assessor qualification: A1, TAQA, CAVA, or D32, D33 and a recognised teaching or training qualification at level 3 or above (hold or be working towards), which could include any of the following: Level 3 or 4 Award in Education and Training or Diploma or Certificate in Education.
  • Experience in educational delivery and working knowledge within the training/education sector.
  • Commitment to CPD/professional development/safeguarding.
  • Minimum Level 3 professional teaching qualification (PTLLS teaching qualification or equivalent).
  • GCSE Grade A -C in English, Maths, and IT or equivalent.
  • Occupational competence in delivering vocational qualifications.
  • An understanding of curriculum design and assessment.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of the education inspection framework.
  • A passion for changing lives through quality teaching.
  • Be confident in delivering and supporting learners with Maths and English Functional Skills when required.
  • Identify individual learner needs, implementing and reviewing SMART targets for their assessment plans.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to strict deadlines and targets.
