About the School: A vibrant and inclusive secondary school dedicated to supporting the individual needs of all students. The school provides a safe and nurturing environment where students, including those with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, can thrive academically and personally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored support to secondary‑age students with SEMH needs in the classroom and on a 1:1 or small group basis
- Assist in the delivery of differentiated lessons to meet students' individual needs
- Support students in managing their emotions, behaviours, and social interactions
- Work closely with teaching staff and the SENCO to develop and implement individual learning plans
- Monitor and record students' progress, and provide feedback to teachers and parents
- Help create a positive, inclusive, and calm learning environment for students
- Contribute to the broader life of the school by supporting school activities and initiatives where required
The Ideal Candidate:
- Experience working with secondary‑age pupils with SEMH needs (preferred)
- A passion for supporting students with diverse needs and helping them to achieve their full potential
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents
- A proactive and patient approach to supporting students
- A relevant qualification in supporting students with additional needs (e.g., Level 2/3 TA qualification, or equivalent)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Understanding of safeguarding policies and a commitment to the wellbeing of students
