Responsibilities
- Manage all commercial and cost-related aspects of construction projects from post-reconstructive through to final account.
- Prepare bills of quantities, tender documentation, cost plans, and procurement schedules.
- Conduct detailed cost analysis, risk assessments, and value engineering exercises.
- Lead subcontractor procurement, negotiation, and contract administration.
- Monitor project expenditure, valuations, variations, and cashflow forecasting.
- Work closely with project managers, site teams, and design consultants to ensure commercial control and contractual compliance.
- Provide accurate monthly reporting, cost-to-complete assessments, and financial updates to senior management.
- Ensure all work aligns with the company's high standards of quality, safety, sustainability, and client satisfaction.
- Build strong relationships with clients, supply chain partners, and internal stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related construction/commercial discipline (or equivalent experience).
- Proven experience in a QS role within main contracting or developer-led construction.
- Strong understanding of JCT contracts, procurement routes, and commercial management.
- Excellent numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines with precision and attention to detail.
- Confident communicator with strong negotiation and stakeholder-management abilities.
- Proficiency in cost management software and Microsoft Office applications.
