We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our Commercial Painting Client based in the East Midlands. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of cost control, budgeting, and financial reporting throughout the lifecycle of projects.

What you’ll get:

Duties:

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for commercial painting and decorating projects up to 1M.
  • Monitor project costs throughout the construction process, ensuring adherence to budgets and identifying potential overruns early.
  • Conduct regular cost analysis and financial reporting to stakeholders, providing accurate forecasts and updates.
  • Negotiate with suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors to secure competitive prices while maintaining quality standards.
  • Manage contractual changes, variations, and claims related to project costs.
  • Implement effective cost control measures and optimise resource utilisation across multiple projects.
  • Collaborate with design teams during the planning phase to evaluate cost implications of design options.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, standards, and company policies related to financial management.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or similar role within the commercial painting, dry wall, and plaster industries.
  • Strong expertise in cost control techniques and financial management.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Good understanding of construction processes, contracts, and legal frameworks.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with clients, contractors, and internal teams.
