About Gafoor: Gafoor is a dynamic and rapidly growing family-owned business in Preston. They are a key player in their sector operating on a national basis, supplying poultry products to leading blue chip manufacturers.

About the role: We are looking to recruit a Quality Manager who will take on responsibility for leading a team of quality controllers within our facility. The primary focus of the role will be to ensure that all products achieve the highest standards of food safety and meet a wide range of customer specifications. This is a hands-on role, where your presence within the factory will ensure we continue to drive a culture of continuous improvement and ensure that the customer is always front and centre in our minds. You will need to have worked in a similar manufacturing environment and have at least 3 years' experience managing a team. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of QA's in their day to day work across all departments
  • Stand in for the Technical Manager when required
  • Through visible leadership, ensure that a positive quality culture is encouraged, continuous improvement sustained, and best practices are shared
  • Contribute ideas for the development, implementation and continuous improvement of all quality systems
  • In partnership with the wider team, support the development and introduction of all new products, including the effective execution of trials and taste panels
  • Assist with internal audits
  • Monitor and update improvement plans for customer complaints and non-conformances
  • Provide technical support to the hygiene team and production teams

About you:

Essential attributes and skills:

  • A minimum of 3 years' experience managing a team in a similar environment in the UK.
  • Degree in food science or equivalent with experience of HACCP, traceability and general food safety or equivalent on the job experience
  • Experience within a BRC food production/manufacturing site within the UK
  • Strong communication skills and the assertiveness to challenge others where necessary
  • Strong work and team ethic, able to motivate and inspire others
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to juggle multiple priorities at any one time
  • Excellent I.T skills including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Auditing skills
  • Analytical problem-solving skills
