A long-established, independent construction consultancy in London is seeking a commercially driven Project QS to join its expanding cost management team. This is an outstanding opportunity for a Project QS to work across some of the UK's most recognisable commercial, heritage, residential, hospitality, and cultural developments. The Project QS will be involved in complex, design-led schemes where technical quality and client service are held to exceptionally high standards.
This Project QS role offers the chance to work closely with leading developers, architects, and institutional clients, placing the Project QS at the centre of high-profile project delivery. The Project QS will join a consultancy renowned for its independent thinking, collaborative culture, and long-standing reputation within the built environment. For a Project QS looking for greater project exposure and a more consultative role, this opportunity delivers genuine variety and progression.
The Project QS will manage the commercial aspects of projects from initial feasibility through to completion and final account. The Project QS will oversee procurement strategies, prepare tender documentation, evaluate contractor returns, and provide detailed cost advice throughout the project lifecycle. As a Project QS, you will work directly with clients, design teams, and contractors, ensuring schemes remain commercially aligned and strategically managed. The Project QS will also administer contracts, predominantly under JCT forms, while supporting project delivery across multiple sectors and workstreams.
The ideal Project QS will have 3-6 years' UK consultancy or client-side experience across commercial, residential, hospitality, or heritage sectors. A Project QS should be comfortable managing both pre- and post-contract duties while maintaining strong client relationships. Excellent knowledge of JCT contracts is essential for this Project QS role. A degree in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management is preferred, with MRICS or APC progression viewed positively. The Project QS will be detail-focused, commercially aware, and confident operating in a client-facing environment.
