We are looking for a proactive Procurement/Buyer to work with a growing manufacturing business in Kineton. This is a hands-on, varied role where you'll be right at the heart of keeping production running smoothly - from placing purchase orders to working closely with suppliers and managing stock.
What you'll be doing:
- Placing purchase orders and tracking deliveries
- Liaising with suppliers to resolve lead-time issues and improve supply performance
- Conducting basic inbound quality checks and managing non-conformance reports
- Booking in parts, managing stock levels, and kitting to BOM/drawings for production and spares
- Coordinating with accounts and organising ex-works shipments
- Transporting materials between suppliers and our base when needed
- Monitoring material KPIs and generating demand plans
- Identifying and delivering supplier cost-saving opportunities
What we're looking for:
- Strong Excel skills, including formulae and pivot tables (used for MRP reporting)
- Familiarity with MRP systems
- Experience in mechanical, electrical, or electronic component procurement
- Comfortable buying bespoke parts and working in a varied role
- Diligent, resourceful, and solutions-driven
- Excellent relationship-building skills with suppliers
- Happy to be on site the majority of the time, including receiving deliveries
- Understanding of engineering change control processes
Desirable (but not essential):
- Experience with contract manufacturers
- Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics and/or implementing new MRP systems
- Negotiating and setting up supply agreements
- Supplier sourcing experience
