Long Term Futures is working with a welcoming and inclusive junior school in Northfield to appoint a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support within a Year 4 class. This role has a strong focus on behaviour support, working closely with pupils who require additional support to regulate emotions and engage positively with learning. This is a long-term opportunity for the remainder of the academic year, with the potential to become a permanent position for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities- Support teaching and learning within a Year 4 classroom
- Provide targeted support for pupils with SEN and behavioural needs
- Use effective behaviour management and de-escalation strategies
- Deliver small group interventions to support learning and progress
- Build positive relationships to support pupils' social and emotional development
- Qualifications: Level 2 or Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools (or equivalent)
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year working in a primary or junior school
- Skills: Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
- Experience supporting children with SEN and behavioural needs
- Confidence delivering small group interventions
- Understanding of the KS2 curriculum
- Training in behaviour management approaches (e.g. Team Teach, PRICE, MAPA, or similar)
- Based in Northfield (B31)
