Following the successful appointment last year of a dynamic new Managing Director in the largest privately owned tape printer in Europe, we now seek to appoint an accomplished senior Operations Manager / Director as a key part of a newly structured Leadership team & their onward growth strategy.
As part of a strong strategic plan for delivering leadership structure, investment & onward growth, the new Operations Manager / Director role demands an experienced, practically astute and dynamically energetic Production centric professional to lead the Operational team, with the strategic intelligence & people leadership skills to further cement their overriding passion and capability for delivering exceptional product & customer care.
Responsible for a Pre Press, Scheduling & Production team (currently in excess of 30 staff across two sites), you will form part of the Company leadership team, working alongside the Managing Director. You will plan, organise, direct and control the operational function of the Business, leading the aspiration to be a world class manufacturer, with a key focus on the implementation of robust and cost effective manufacturing systems that will enable the achievement of world class performance.
You will lead and manage the manufacturing teams and employees in achieving the goals and objectives in terms of productivity, safety, quality, service, financial goals and process consistency. Through effective management of manufacturing and support services, the Operations Manager / Director will balance meeting customer needs with optimizing operational effectiveness.
Extensive experience in leading short‑run/FMCG manufacturing environments with strict adherence to safety, quality, cost and delivery objectives. Expertise in world‑class standards of manufacturing and associated operations. A proven Operations leader, who has operated as part of a strategic team responsible for the development and delivery of a business plan. Demonstrable commercial acumen, able to apply strong business rationale when problem solving and establishing priorities. An outstanding coach and role model, able to demonstrate truly inspirational, positive and motivational leadership.
Desirable experience is one that spans the printing industry (flexo, digital, tape / labelling manufacture), but critically, your experience must be based around a bespoke manufacturing system delivery. Highly articulate, literate and numerate, combined with exceptional communication skills.
Ideally you will be based within a reasonable proximity of the Cambs/Herts areas, as travelling between their two manufacturing sites will be required as part of your remit. Without any compromise, you will need to have a track record of World Class Manufacturing experience as this is a critical role for the business & truly pivotal in their evolved Business strategy.
