We are looking for an experienced CNC Machinist to join a busy manufacturing environment on a day shift. The role involves setting and operating CNC machines, producing components to drawing specification, and ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities- Set and operate CNC milling and/or turning machines
- Work to engineering drawings and job specifications
- Ensure parts are produced to required quality standards
- Complete work within set cycle times and production targets
- Maintain a safe, clean and organised working area (5S standards)
- Follow all Health & Safety procedures at all times
- Support continuous improvement activities where required
- Be flexible and support other areas of production when needed
- Assist with training and support of other team members when required
- Previous experience in a CNC machining or engineering environment
- Experience setting and operating CNC machines (Mazak/Heidenhain experience preferred)
- Ability to read engineering drawings
- Understanding of CNC programming (ISO / G-code and/or Mazatrol)
- Good knowledge of milling and turning processes
- Strong problem‑solving skills
- Awareness of Health & Safety in a manufacturing environment
- Good communication skills
- Reliable, hands‑on approach to work
- Basic computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office)
- Experience with offline programming (Edgecam, Mastercam or similar)
- Experience in both milling and turning
- Knowledge of Lean / continuous improvement practices
