HLTA - Secondary Schools (Rhondda Cynon Taf). September Start. 100‑130 per day.

The Role

  • As an HLTA in a Secondary school, you will play a key role in supporting teaching and learning across the school.
  • Responsibilities may include:
    • Supporting the delivery of learning in classes across KS3 and KS4
    • Delivering pre‑planned lessons in the absence of the class teacher
    • Working with small groups or on a 1:1 basis to support academic progress
    • Supporting pupils with ALN/SEN, behavioural needs or emotional regulation
    • Assisting with classroom behaviour management and engagement
    • Working collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs and pastoral teams

HLTAs in Secondary schools are often used to provide higher‑level classroom support, cover lessons when required, and help ensure continuity of learning throughout the school day.

The Ideal Candidate

  • HLTA qualification or substantial experience working at HLTA level
  • Experience working within Secondary schools
  • Confidence supporting whole classes and leading learning when required
  • Experience working with ALN/SEN and/or challenging behaviour (desirable)
  • Strong behaviour management and communication skills
  • A positive, flexible and proactive approach

What We Offer

  • Daily pay between 100 and 130, depending on experience

Requirements

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Suitable references covering recent experience
