Murphy is recruiting for a Planning Manager to work with Energy initially based out of Kentish Town, with travel to project sites. A day in the life of a Murphy Planning Manager:
- Manage the planning team on a day-to-day basis
- Drive implementation and use of planning and project controls procedures and processes
- Line and/or functional management of planners, including management of external planning resources
- Develop capability across the team to deliver high quality standards and outputs
- Apply a consistent audit and review approach to ensure planning requirements are met, reduce non-compliance and improve project and business performance
- Manage the structured and controlled use of enterprise planning tools
- Contribute to the development of business unit and sector plans and strategies
- Review and apply client-specific requirements
- Maintain effective working relationships with clients and project stakeholders (internal and external)
- Ensure integrated, whole life programmes are developed from first principles in line with planning and work winning procedures
- Contribute to business development activities to identify, pursue and secure projects
- Ensure alignment with work winning governance processes in relation to planning outputs
- Ensure tender programmes are critically reviewed to confirm that planning and scheduling are appropriate, contractually compliant, robust and deliverable
- Ensure accurate and transparent reporting of progress, risks and issues related to the programme
- Ensure programmes and associated reports are regularly updated and submitted to the client in line with contract requirements
- Apply change control processes for identifying, notifying and quantifying time impacts relating to delay, disruption and change
- Maintain alignment between Operations, Commercial and Planning teams to ensure consistent project information
- Contribute to the identification, management and mitigation of project risks
- Facilitate planning and project teams in resolving risks and issues
