The predicted salary is between 35000 - 40000 £ per year.

We are looking for a Welders Mate/General Labourer to join our team assigned to Caterpillar in Peterlee. With plenty of overtime work available throughout the week and during the weekends, you have the opportunity to maximise your earnings on an overtime rate which is paid at time and a half Monday to Saturday and double time on a Sunday.

Pay Rate and Working Hours

  • 36.5 hours per week
  • £17.01 per hour day shift
  • £20.41 per hour afternoon shift
  • £22.96 per hour night shift
  • £25.52 per hour overtime Monday to Saturday
  • £34.02 per hour overtime Sundays

Shifts

  • Days: Monday - Thursday, 08:00 - 16:00. Friday, 08:00 - 12:30
  • Back shift: Monday - Thursday, 16:00 - 00:00. Friday, 12:30 - 17:00
  • Night shift: Monday - Thursday, 00:00 - 08:00. Friday, 17:00 - 21:30

About you

  • Experienced with working in a similar position within a factory environment
  • Have the ability to work under own initiative as well as part of a team
  • Be accustomed to modern practices e.g. following a standard work procedure, 5S etc.
  • Carry out some manual lifting
  • Work with a sense and awareness of safety at all times
  • Preparing materials for welding (cutting, grinding, cleaning surfaces etc)
  • Using hand and power tools (grinders, wire brushes, clamps etc)
  • Holding or positioning parts during welding
  • General labouring in a busy factory environment
  • Full and ongoing training will be provided
  • Potential to progress within any of the fabrication departments
  • An awareness for safety at all times
