Location: Contracted to our Peterborough office with flexibility for hybrid working.

Contract Type: Permanent

Full time: 37.5 hours per week

Salary: £36,000 - £40,000 depending on experience

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the press office and storytelling function
  • Shape and deliver coverage that raises the profile of the charity and shows the reality, urgency and impact of kidney disease on patients and their families
  • Operate confidently and at pace as the first point of contact in the press office, spotting news stories and building lasting relationships with journalists
  • Oversee our storytelling function, ensuring patient and supporter stories are handled with care, consent, safeguarding and data processes
  • Work closely with fundraising, policy, research and marketing/communication teams to ensure PR plays a central role in strategic priorities and campaigns

Qualifications:

  • Strong track record in press or media relations, excellent writing skills and judgement to operate confidently
  • Experience as a PR Manager, Communications Manager, Corporate Communications Manager, External Communications Manager, Media Relations Manager, Digital PR, Social Media strategy, Public Relations, Press Office, in charitable or third‑sector organisations
