1:1 Maths Tutor Opportunity – Salford

Are you passionate about supporting young people outside of mainstream education? Spencer Clarke Group is currently looking for compassionate, dedicated, and experienced Maths tutors to provide personalised 1:1 tuition across Salford for young people who may be:

  • Out of mainstream education
  • Struggling with attendance or school refusal
  • Experiencing anxiety or SEMH needs
  • Diagnosed with ASD or ADHD
  • Living with additional learning needs or EHCP requirements
  • Finding traditional school settings challenging

This role is ideal for tutors who can build positive relationships, adapt learning to individual needs, and help rebuild confidence and engagement with education through tailored Maths support.

What we're looking for:

  • Minimum of 1 year tutoring or teaching experience
  • Experience teaching or tutoring Maths
  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN
  • Strong understanding of additional needs and barriers to learning
  • Ability to deliver tailored, engaging 1:1 sessions
  • Patient, nurturing, and adaptable approach
  • Experience supporting pupils with ASD, ADHD, SEMH, or anxiety-related needs desirable
  • Experience supporting GCSE Maths or Functional Skills learners beneficial
  • Availability for flexible daytime sessions

  • Your CV must cover the last 10 years of employment history where possible, and all employment breaks must be explained.
  • You must have legal right to work in the UK.
  • You must be willing to attend a registration interview.
  • All applications are subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, professional reference checks, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) in line with our stringent safeguarding policy.
  • All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 14.3% statutory holiday pay.
  • This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
