The predicted salary is between 30000 - 40000 £ per year.

Permanent STE04 Examiner – 37.5 hours per week. Remote/Hybrid working with frequent travel across southern England, including weekends and nights. You will perform all work within the CEFA contract, maximising efficiency, effectiveness, and leveraging new technology to ensure compliance with all relevant standards while delivering all duties safely and in accordance with client requirements.

What You’ll Do

  • Compile and submit condition reports using the structures database system for reviewing by the Examining Engineers team. Reports will need to be verified by a mentoring Examiner.
  • Complete required railway, safety and technical training as set out in the training agreement.
  • Utilise handheld technology or other means to determine structural condition as allocated within the structures database or other agreed systems within defined timescales.
  • Perform special examinations as directed, including assistance with monitoring schemes for sensitive structures.
  • Undertake reconnaissance visits.
  • Assist in provision of safety‑critical site support duties as required (COSS, ES SWL1 and 2).

  • Educated to level 3 diploma or equivalent with an Engineering/Construction background – preferable.

  • Ability to plan and deliver work to set deadlines.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Pass initial and random Drug and Alcohol screenings.
  • Strong literacy and verbal communication skills.
  • IT Literate with minimum Word and Excel processing.
