The Role
We are currently recruiting Cold Store Operatives to join our clients based in the Heathrow/Feltham area. This is an excellent opportunity to join a fast‑paced warehouse environment handling perishable cargo, including fish and other temperature‑controlled goods. You will be working within a cold store facility (5–20 C), with full Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Loading and unloading vehicles carrying perishable cargo using a forklift truck and other mechanical equipment
- Carrying out manual handling duties where required
- Breaking down and building ULDs (including PAGs, PMCs and AKEs)
- Using hand‑held scanning devices to locate and identify cargo
- Processing paperwork in line with client requirements
- Checking inbound cargo for discrepancies, damage, or areas of concern
- Picking and packing orders ready for delivery
- Maintaining a clean, organised and compliant warehouse environment
- Working collaboratively as part of an enthusiastic team
- Adhering strictly to Health & Safety procedures at all times
Requirements
- Be safety‑focused with the ability to maintain a secure working environment
- Be able to speak, read and write English
- Have previous warehouse experience (desirable but not essential, full training provided)
- Be able to provide a fully checkable 5‑year employment and/or education history
- Successfully complete criminal record checks in line with CAA security regulations (DBS and/or PCC)
