The Parts Harvesting Engineer plays a key role in supporting the success and growth of our GS‑Spares eBay store, combining hands‑on technical expertise with operational efficiency to maximise parts recovery, sales performance, and customer satisfaction. Working within a fast‑paced environment, you will be responsible for dismantling and harvesting high‑quality reusable components from IT equipment, ensuring products meet high engineering and quality standards before being prepared for resale or supplied internally to our Breakfix Department. This is a varied and dynamic role that blends engineering, stock control, dispatch, and administrative responsibilities, making it ideal for someone who thrives on variety, can adapt quickly to changing priorities, and enjoys balancing technical and operational tasks while maintaining exceptional attention to detail and productivity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify and recover high‑value, fast‑selling components from IT equipment to maximise resale opportunities and revenue generation.
  • Support the efficient picking, packing, and dispatch of customer orders, ensuring accuracy and excellent service standards.
  • Prepare and maintain product listing reports to support online sales activity and stock visibility.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service by responding to customer enquiries professionally, promptly, and effectively.
  • Accurately record and manage stock within internal systems, maintaining strong stock control and inventory accuracy at all times.
  • Monitor and update online listings and pricing strategies to remain competitive and aligned with market demand and product lifecycle trends.
  • Prioritise and fulfil internal Breakfix parts requests to support operational turnaround times and business needs.
  • Coordinate product returns efficiently while helping to maintain excellent eBay seller performance and customer satisfaction ratings.
  • Organise and maintain parts inventory in a structured, scalable, and easy-to-manage stock system.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across the department, providing support during busy periods, engineering projects, and high‑volume workloads.
Competencies & Behaviours

  • Confident using Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, for reporting, stock management, and data handling.
