Part Time 6 month FTC Bookkeeper Office based in Clacton. 25 to 30 hours per week.
Location: Clacton (Office-based)
Salary: £25,000 - £40,000 FTE (pro rata)
Key Responsibilities
- Manage HMRC payments and VAT returns
- Process purchase and sales ledger transactions
- Reconcile supplier statements, bank accounts, credit cards, and ledgers
- Maintain accurate bookkeeping and financial records
- Prepare journals, month-end processes, and assist with management accounts
- Handle payroll-related admin (BrightPay/BrightHR)
- Manage foreign currency payments and fixed assets
- Support audit preparation
- Provide cover and guidance for Accounts Assistant duties
About You
- Proven experience in a similar accounts role
- Strong knowledge of accounting processes and compliance
- Experience with Sage 50, BrightPay, and BrightHR
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
- Excellent organisation, accuracy, and ability to meet tight deadlines
- Proactive team player with the ability to work independently
- AAT (or equivalent) preferred
