The Role
This is a great opportunity for someone who holds their AAT Level 3 qualification or higher and is ready to get stuck into a varied and interesting practice role. You'll work across a broad client portfolio, gaining solid hands-on exposure to accounts preparation, tax, and wider practice work all within a supportive and experienced team that is committed to helping you grow.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparation of accounts for a varied portfolio of clients including sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies
- Assisting with the preparation of personal and corporate tax returns
- Supporting with VAT returns and management accounts as required
- Liaising with clients in a professional and confident manner, building strong working relationships
- Working closely with senior members of the team and contributing to the smooth running of the practice
- Keeping up to date with relevant accounting standards and legislative changes
What We're Looking For
- AAT qualified to Level 3 or above this is the key requirement for the role
- Previous experience working within an accountancy practice is highly desirable
- Solid understanding of accounts preparation and basic tax principles
- Proficient with accounting software such as Xero, Sage, QuickBooks, or similar
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organisational and time management skills
- A positive, professional attitude with genuine ambition to progress
- AAT bookkeeping qualification is not required, but would be considered a bonus
- Based within commuting distance of Derby
