Are you an entrepreneurial, customer-focused leader with a passion for retail and community? Join Morrisons Daily as a Convenience Store Manager and run your store like it's your own business! We are looking for a dedicated shopkeeper to lead one of our busy stores. Your mission will be to serve your customers, support your colleagues, and champion your local community, ensuring the store is the best place to work and shop.

As the heart of your store, you will be responsible for driving success across four key areas:

  • Customer & Commercial Performance: Treat the store as your own business, constantly seeking innovative ways to improve the commercial offering, drive sales, and manage costs effectively. Lead your team to deliver exceptional customer service, challenging the norm and thinking of new ways to make the customer experience the best in the market, in line with the Morrisons brand promise.
  • Team Leadership & Development: Oversee all people activities; from recruitment and induction to training and ongoing development. Build and champion an inclusive culture where every colleague is motivated, empowered, and equipped to deliver outstanding service and achieve their full potential.
  • Operational Excellence: Ensure all operational procedures, health and safety, and compliance standards are rigorously met, maintaining an attractive, safe, and efficient shopping environment. As hours are driven by business and customer needs, this role requires flexibility, including early mornings, late nights, and weekend work.
  • Community Engagement: Build strong, positive relationships within the local community, understanding the vital role your store plays and actively seeking ways to offer support.

We are looking for leaders who can inspire, adapt, and deliver results. While prior experience in a fast-paced, service-focused environment (such as retail, convenience, or hospitality) is beneficial, we prioritise the following leadership qualities:

  • People Development: A genuine passion for spotting, coaching, and developing talent within your team, fostering a high-performing and collaborative culture.
  • Inspiration & Influence: The ability to motivate and inspire your team, while also listening and influencing stakeholders to think broadly about new ways of doing things.
  • Hands-On Attitude: The willingness to "roll up your sleeves" and work alongside your team to support the delivery of day-to-day store objectives.
  • Resilience: High level of personal resilience and strong problem-solving skills to navigate challenges effectively.

Please note: Some stores offer Post Office services. If so, a P250 financial check will be required as part of your offer of employment. Successful verification of this check is mandatory to start employment.

More Perks

  • Salary: We don't advertise salary because we honestly have a degree of flexibility and would never want salary to be a reason why someone doesn't apply to Morrisons. Our recruitment team will always discuss this with you early in the process as we genuinely want to match your experience with the correct salary.
  • Annual leave: 28 days holiday
  • Colleague Discount: 15% discount across convenience, supermarkets and online
  • Company Pension: Contributory scheme
  • Sir Ken Morrison Leadership School: Internal leadership school offering a University accredited development programme
  • Health & Wellbeing Support: Access to Vita Health & Aviva digital GP
