A well‑established main contractor with a strong presence across Oxfordshire is looking to appoint an experienced Site Manager to support delivery on two upcoming projects within the city. The business is known for delivering complex schemes in live environments, with a particular focus on education, commercial and healthcare settings. This role offers a genuine choice of project depending on experience. You will either take the lead on a £3million laboratory refurbishment or work as a No.2 Site Manager on a newly secured £11million scheme. Both projects are based in Oxford and due to start in late Q2, with full pre‑construction support and experienced teams already in place.

Role

  • As Site Manager, you will be responsible for the day‑to‑day running of the site, ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme and to a high standard.
  • You will work closely with the wider project team, supply chain and client stakeholders to keep everything moving smoothly.
  • Lead daily site operations on a £3m refurbishment or support delivery on an £11m project.
  • Manage subcontractors and trades, driving quality and productivity.
  • Maintain and promote high health & safety standards at all times.
  • Coordinate with design and commercial teams to resolve site queries.
  • Monitor progress against programme and assist with short‑term planning.
  • Oversee site documentation, QA records, permits and reporting.
  • Manage snagging, inspections and handover processes.
  • Build positive working relationships with the client and project team.

Ideal Candidate

  • Proven experience as a Site Manager or a strong No.2 ready to step up.
  • Background working on education, healthcare or commercial projects.
  • Confident managing subcontractors in live or sensitive environments.
  • Well organised, practical and calm under pressure.
  • SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid certified.
  • Takes pride in delivering quality work and running a safe, tidy site.
  • Looking for stable local work with a reputable contractor.
