As our kitchen assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the day-to-day operations of our care homes kitchen. Joining us at Chawley Grove, our luxury care home that provides residential, dementia, and nursing care for older people, you'll be part of a team that is genuinely passionate about the health and well-being of our residents.

What you'll be doing:

  • Supporting the chefs in the planning and provision of high-quality meals that meet the nutritional and dietary requirements of our residents.
  • Plan, prepare, and serve balanced meals that meet dietary requirements.
  • Ensure all food prepared meets Food Hygiene Standards and that safe methods of work are always used.
  • Manage all stocks and stores ensuring all food is correctly marked and stock rotation systems are in place.
  • Maintain accurate records to satisfy food hygiene requirements such as fridge temperature checks.

About You:

  • Proven experience working in a similar catering role, ideally in a care or similar environment.
  • Committed to customer care and first-class service provision.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety COSHH regulations.
  • Empathy and a desire to make a difference to the lives of our residents.
  • Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and on own initiative in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrate our values at all times – a can-do flexible team worker, problem fixer, passion for what they do, ability to manage a diverse and demanding workload, think out of the box, open to doing things differently.
