About the role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Clinical Lead to join a high-quality care home team. You will work closely with the Home Manager, nurses, and care staff to ensure the delivery of outstanding clinical care, strong governance, and a safe, person‑centred environment for all residents. This is a key leadership role where you will take responsibility for clinical standards, staff support, and continuous improvement, ensuring care consistently meets and exceeds regulatory expectations.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and support the nursing and care team to deliver high-quality clinical care
- Oversee day‑to‑day clinical practice within the home
- Ensure care plans are accurate, person‑centred, and regularly reviewed
- Promote best practice in nursing, dementia care, and complex needs support
- Support staff through training, mentoring, and clinical supervision
- Contribute to clinical audits, governance, and quality assurance systems
- Ensure full compliance with CQC standards, safeguarding, and DoLS/MCA requirements
- Support infection control, medication management, and risk assessments
- Work closely with the Home Manager to drive continuous service improvement
- Act as a calm and effective decision‑maker in clinical situations
Skills and attributes
- Strong clinical background with confidence to lead a nursing/care team
- Previous senior care or leadership experience (e.g., Senior Nurse, Deputy, or Team Leader)
- Ability to make sound clinical decisions under pressure
- Passion for high-quality, person‑centred care
- Strong leadership, communication, and mentoring skills
- Good working knowledge of:
- CQC regulations
- Safeguarding procedures
- DoLS / Mental Capacity Act
- Clinical audits and governance frameworks
Qualifications
- NMC Registered Nurse (RGN/RMN/RNLD)
- Relevant post‑registration clinical experience
- Leadership or management experience within a care setting is desirable
