Temporary Logistics Operator Immediate Opportunity
Are you an experienced logistics or warehouse professional looking for your next opportunity? We are recruiting for a Temporary Logistics Operator to join a busy, fast‑paced site on a 6‑month contract. This is a great chance to secure a well‑paid role where you will play a key part in keeping site operations running safely, smoothly and efficiently.
Pay rate: £18.66 per hour
Contract: 6‑month temporary contract
Opportunity: Immediate start available for the right candidate
Key responsibilities:
- Receive, check and safely store incoming materials and supplies.
- Operate a counterbalance FLT to load and unload containers and vehicles.
- Manage gatehouse receipt and dispatch of bulk materials to site standards.
- Handle stores intake and manage incoming and outgoing site post.
- Control site access for vehicles and visitors, including emergency response support.
- Run weighbridge, booking and gatehouse processes accurately and efficiently.
- Keep production supplied with raw materials and packaging on time.
- Maintain accurate stock control using SAP and physical inventory checks.
- Pick, prepare and process orders accurately for dispatch.
- Pack, label and load products to customer and regulatory requirements.
- Dispatch bulk and packed materials safely, efficiently and on time.
- Complete all delivery, dispatch and stock paperwork accurately.
- Work closely with internal teams, hauliers and external contacts to keep operations moving.
- Maintain excellent housekeeping across stores and operational areas.
- Carry out stock counts and cycle checks to support inventory accuracy.
- Follow site health, safety, environmental and quality procedures at all times.
- Communicate effectively with Order Fulfilment, hauliers and other stakeholders.
- Support incident investigations, safety reviews and site inspections.
- Work to strict HSEQ standards to meet company, customer and legal requirements.
- Help improve local processes and contribute to continuous improvement activity.
- Take on other reasonable duties within your skills and experience when needed.
What we’re looking for:
- Proven experience in logistics, stores, warehousing or a similar fast‑paced operational environment.
- A valid counterbalance FLT licence with confident, hands‑on operating experience.
- A solid understanding of stock control, goods in/goods out and safe working practices.
- Good IT skills, ideally with experience using SAP or similar stock management systems.
- A reliable, safety‑focused approach with the confidence to communicate effectively across teams and with drivers.
