A leading manufacturer of industrial equipment has a new vacancy for an Occupational Health Nurse to join its UK site. Applicants are sought who have experience working in an industrial sector (distribution, manufacturing, engineering, construction) and can demonstrate a proven track record of running health assessments, medical screening and promoting wellness and preventative health measures. The position can be offered on a full or part time basis.

The Role

  • Health Assessments & Medical Screening: Conducting pre-employment and routine medical screenings.
  • Injury and Illness Management: Managing work-related injuries and illnesses, providing advice, and coordinating return-to-work programs.
  • Health Education & Promotion: Promoting wellness and preventative health measures, providing training on ergonomics, hazard prevention, and lifestyle changes.
  • Compliance & Reporting: Ensuring the workplace complies with health and safety regulations and legislation, preparing reports, and maintaining accurate health records.
  • Risk Assessments: Identifying workplace health risks and helping to mitigate them through preventive measures.
  • Vaccination & Immunization Programs: Managing immunization programs, especially for employees in hazardous or exposed roles.

The Person

  • Registered Nurse.
  • Specialised in Occupational Health Training.
  • Prior experience working in an industrial environment is preferred.
  • Ability to work with both management and employees to promote a safe and healthy workplace.
  • Ability to identify workplace hazards and come up with effective solutions to minimize risk.
  • Strong report writing skills.
  • Proven experience carrying out health screening including general medicals and drug & alcohol testing.
  • Knowledge of UK health and safety regulations and legislation.
