We are currently recruiting for an HR Manager to join a fast-paced transport/logistics business based in Norwich. This is a varied role supporting the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, training, employee relations, performance management and retention, alongside supporting day-to-day operational activities.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing recruitment, onboarding and retention activities for both operational and agency staff
  • Leading disciplinary, grievance and performance management processes in line with company policy and employment legislation
  • Conducting probation reviews and supporting employee development across the business
  • Designing and delivering training programmes, inductions and compliance training initiatives
  • Leading employee engagement and communication activities across multiple platforms
  • Supporting payroll processes, weekly timesheets and holiday management for operational teams
  • Ensuring compliance with transport legislation, company procedures and HR policies
  • Monitoring accidents, incidents and near misses, ensuring accurate reporting and RIDDOR compliance
  • Maintaining Health & Safety procedures, risk assessments and employee welfare standards
  • Managing contractor compliance, RAMS documentation and permits to work
  • Overseeing company PPE, uniforms and operational equipment to ensure compliance and stock control
  • Conducting vehicle and operational checks to maintain safety and compliance standards
  • Supporting wider operational management as part of the senior leadership team
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives across HR, operations and Health & Safety processes
  • Building strong working relationships across all levels of the business and supporting a positive workplace culture

The successful candidate will have previous experience within a fast-paced operational or logistics environment, strong people management skills and a proactive, solutions-focused approach.
