Our client is seeking an experienced and motivated Agricultural Service Technician to join their team. This role focuses on maintaining, servicing, and repairing modern agricultural machinery—particularly tractors—across Norwich and the surrounding Norfolk area. You’ll work independently, travelling directly from home or the workshop to customer sites, supported by a well-established depot for parts collection and technical support.
Role Overview
- Diagnose, service, and repair agricultural tractors, including hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Carry out computer-based diagnostics on modern machinery; equipment and software provided.
- Travel to customer sites across Norfolk, typically starting the day from home.
- Return to the depot as required to collect parts and prepare for upcoming jobs.
- Participate in occasional on-call and weekend work due to the nature of the agricultural industry.
- Maintain high standards of customer service, professionalism, and accuracy in reporting.
Requirements
- Ideally experience working on Case tractors (advantageous but not essential).
- Background in agricultural, plant, forklift, HGV, or similar mechanical engineering.
- Strong knowledge in hydraulics, electrics, or mechanical systems.
- Confident carrying out diagnostics, including computer-based troubleshooting.
- Must be computer-literate due to the use of diagnostic software.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
- Own tools required (vehicle, laptop, phone, and specialist tools provided).
Salary & Benefits
- Hourly rate 18-22, dependent on experience.
- Standard hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm (42.5 hrs/week).
- 39 hours paid at basic rate; additional 5 hours built-in overtime at 1.5x.
- Further overtime paid at time and a half.
- Double time on Sundays.
- 50 call-out fee for evenings, weekends, and unscheduled work.
- Company van for work travel (not for personal use).
- Full technical training provided, including specialist brand systems.
- Wide customer base across Norfolk, offering varied and rewarding daily work.
