TeacherActive is proud to be working with an independent alternative provision in Northampton, supporting pupils who benefit from a smaller, nurturing and encouraging school environment. The setting offers a supportive culture where staff are valued, young people are given the opportunity to thrive, and pupils are supported to successfully reintegrate into mainstream education where appropriate.

The school is looking to appoint a full-time, permanent Alternative Provision Teacher to support learners across English, Maths and Science. The successful Alternative Provision Teacher will be expected to engage pupils through creative teaching, manage behaviour positively, support students with additional needs and contribute to a calm, safe and inclusive learning environment.

Qualifications

  • QTS / QTLS or willingness to work towards this
  • A degree in a relevant teaching subject or equivalent experience
  • Experience working in a school environment, ideally within secondary or alternative provision
  • Good knowledge of supporting students with special educational needs
  • Strong communication, planning and behaviour management skills
  • A resilient, creative and student-focused approach
