Our client is seeking an experienced and self-driven Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join their team at their office in the North East of England. This role will primarily involve supporting key clients within the Ministry of Defence and Ministry of Justice sectors. Projects typically range from one to several months in duration and offer a diverse and dynamic workload, providing the successful candidate with a varied and engaging scope of design responsibilities.
The ideal candidate will have:
- A degree in a relevant discipline, although applications are also welcome from engineers who have progressed through practical experience supported by recognised qualifications
- A minimum of five years relevant industry experience
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with both internal teams and external stakeholders, particularly client representatives
- Confidence in contributing to meetings with clients, project teams, contractors, and other stakeholders
- The ability to produce high-quality, detailed electrical design work for building services and power distribution systems, including calculations, analysis, schematics, drawings, specifications, and related documentation
- A solid understanding of relevant legislation, standards, regulations, and best practices

- LV distribution systems
- Lighting and emergency lighting
- Small power systems
- Fire alarm and detection systems
- Security systems
- IT and communications infrastructure
- Lightning protection
- Standby power supplies
- Earthing systems

- HV distribution systems
