Manpower is currently recruiting for Class 1 Tramper Drivers based out of Darlington for one of our national logistics clients. Our client is a third-party provider of transportation and logistics services that offers a range of services from Drayage, Global freight forwarding & Full truckload transport. The company is committed to environmental sustainability and works with customers to create action plans to reduce emissions. We have opportunities available immediately for our client who are holding assessments this month.

You will be responsible for delivering kitchens to other depots as well as commercial and residential properties. You will work alongside a Drivers Mate who will assist with heavy lifting and deliveries at the drop-off points.

What you'll do on a typical day:

  • You will be safely driving HGV Class 1 Vehicles in a courteous manner.
  • All deliveries must be tracked and signed for using Epod technology.
  • Must be able to work electronic device to scan all items delivered and take photos of delivery.
  • Making deliveries to residential properties to a specified room, if specified.
  • Heavy lifting required so must be physically fit.

What we'll need from you:

  • Class 1 licence, Digital Tachograph Card, Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC).
  • No more than 6 penalty points on licence.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • The knowledge and initiative to solve basic problems and make routine decisions.
  • The ability to complete paperwork in an orderly fashion.
  • A minimum of 6 months experience is preferred in HGV driving.
  • The ability to offload heavy white goods (with the assistance of driver's mate).
