Zenith are delighted to be partnering with a highly successful North-East manufacturer who are entering an exciting phase of expansion, with significant growth planned for 2026 and beyond. As part of their continued investment in innovation, the business is developing new technologies and advanced products making testing and validation a critical part of their development cycle. They are now seeking an experienced and adaptable Electrical Test Technician to join their team on a permanent basis.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on electrical assembly/wiring work while also contributing to cutting-edge testing and product development within a modern laboratory environment. As a Test Technician, you will play a key part in supporting the engineering and R&D teams by:

  • Building and assembling prototypes to support new product development
  • Constructing bespoke test equipment used to validate performance, functionality, and long-term reliability
  • Carrying out testing activities, which may include working with robotic systems in both laboratory and specialised test facilities
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring testing processes and assembly methods evolve with the business
  • Collaborating with engineers and technicians, providing feedback and contributing to problem-solving activities

This role offers a unique blend of practical electrical work and technical testing ideal for someone who enjoys variety and thrives in a development-focused environment.

Qualifications & Experience Required

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • HNC in an electrical discipline and previous experience working in a similar role (essential)
  • Strong working knowledge of panel wiring and the ability to interpret electrical drawings
  • Proven experience constructing electrical assemblies
  • Background working within a continuous improvement or lean manufacturing environment
  • Solid understanding of correct electrical assembly practices
  • Hands-on experience stripping, crimping, and terminating cables
