Are you an experienced Electro-Mechanical Project Engineer looking for a varied and technically challenging role within bespoke automation and special purpose machinery? This is an excellent opportunity for an Electro-Mechanical Project Engineer to join a highly specialised engineering team delivering complex automation systems used across global industrial facilities spanning a number of high regulatory market sectors and advanced engineering sectors.
As an Electro-Mechanical Project Engineer, you will play a key role throughout the full project lifecycle from concept and design through to installation, commissioning and ongoing engineering support.
The RoleThe successful Electro-Mechanical Project Engineer will support the design, development and delivery of bespoke automation equipment and engineered systems used across international manufacturing operations. This is a hands‑on and technically diverse role, combining project engineering, mechanical and electrical design, system integration and customer‑facing project coordination.
Responsibilities- Managing engineering projects through the full lifecycle
- Producing technical proposals, specifications and engineering documentation
- Supporting budgeting, scheduling and project delivery activities
- Coordinating engineering deliverables and technical submissions
- Mechanical and electrical design development
- Creating BOMs, wiring diagrams and control panel layouts
- Conducting equipment testing and performance validation
- Supporting machine builds, panel wiring and system integration
- Working with robotics, sensors, feeders and automation equipment
- Supporting on‑site installation and commissioning activities
- Providing ongoing technical support for deployed equipment globally
- Travelling internationally to customer and manufacturing sites as required
We are interested in engineers with a strong electro‑mechanical background and a passion for solving complex technical challenges. Suitable candidates are likely to have:
- Degree qualification in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
- Previous experience within project engineering, automation or special purpose machinery environments
- Strong understanding of electrical systems and components
- Experience producing electrical schematics and wiring layouts
- Strong CAD capability, ideally using SolidWorks
- Experience within manufacturing or industrial engineering environments
- Good understanding of machine integration and automation systems
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Ability to manage multiple engineering activities simultaneously
- Good IT skills including Microsoft Office and project management tools
Experience with any of the following would be advantageous:
- Control panels
- Robotics
- Sensors and instrumentation
- Linear motion systems
- Machine automation
- Mechanical integration
- Electrical hardware design
