Their famous brand name is seen on the front of leading waste management companies' cabs every day across the United Kingdom’s streets.

Our client is looking for an enthusiastic, innovative, and dynamic multi-disciplined HGV Technician to join their Bridgwater team.

Job Purpose: To carry out the service & repair of HGV and RCV vehicles including routine servicing, MOT preparation, chassis and body repairs, and fault diagnosis.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Routine maintenance & servicing.
  • MOT preparation, remedial repairs as directed by the Workshop Controller & the Service Centre management team.
  • Ensuring all work is carried out to DVSA standard including the completion of all associated paperwork.
  • Promoting good housekeeping within the workshop environment and guaranteeing customer satisfaction.

Quality & Environmental Responsibilities: Responsible for the management, compliance and upkeep of the quality & environmental procedures, records, and documents relevant to the role.

Salary: Up to £48,189 pa plus overtime estimated at £8,000.00 plus annual bonus total package £56,500.00.

Location: Bridgwater

Hours: 45 hours per week, 9 hours per day between 06:00 and 18:00 flexible based on business and customer requirements.

PPE and uniform all supplied. 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays.

Criteria:

  • Knowledge: Time served experience in the maintenance and repair of HGV vehicles or similar in a workshop environment or as an on-site engineer. Understanding of latest DVSA regulations & legislation. Understanding of workplace health & safety requirements. Electrical and hydraulic systems knowledge.
  • Experience: Experience of both body and chassis repairs. Experience in repair of RCVs. Time served Technician.
  • Education / Qualifications: Year 3 City & Guilds or equivalent. HGV License. Product trained. Volvo Tech Tool trained. Allison Transmission Trained.
  • Job-related skills & abilities: Good diagnostic skills. Basic IT skills. Basic administration skills. Ability to communicate with others effectively. Presents a professional image. Practical ability.
  • Other requirements: Willing to work overtime at short notice. Ability and willingness to travel throughout the UK when required. To work catch up weekends in line with Somerset Contract. To travel and attend training courses as required.
