I am currently seeking a Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer to join my client’s small friendly team. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the successful candidate will play a key role in responding swiftly to production breakdowns and delivering planned preventative maintenance on a wide range of poultry processing and packing machinery, including conveyors, module and tray transport systems, plucking equipment, evisceration machinery, tray sealers, flow wrappers, and vacuum sealers.
Key Duties (Mechanically Biased)
- Maintain high standards of Health & Safety and housekeeping.
- Adhere to HSE protocols, including Permit to Work, Risk Assessment, Method Statement, Safe System of Work, and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Follow lock-off procedures to ensure the safety of self and others on site.
- Undertake small projects and modifications as required.
- Assess the nature of breakdowns quickly and take appropriate action.
- Conduct PPM inspections, maintenance, and corrective repairs in a timely manner.
- Perform general maintenance duties, including lubrication tasks and maintenance schedules.
Experience and Qualifications
- NVQ Level 3 (Essential)
- Strong understanding of both mechanical and electrical disciplines (Essential)
- Aptitude for fault diagnosis and logical thinking (Essential)
- Ability to read and interpret schematic drawings (Essential)
- General workshop skills (Essential)
- Self-organisation and self-motivation (Essential)
- Experience with Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) (Desirable)
