The Role

As a Multi Skilled Engineer, you will play a key role in maintaining and improving plant, equipment, and building services within a manufacturing environment. This is a hands‑on, varied position where you'll apply both your electrical and mechanical expertise to ensure operational efficiency and minimise downtime.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out electrical and mechanical maintenance on plant and equipment
  • Identify, manage, and mitigate risks across onsite equipment
  • Perform fault finding on a wide range of machinery
  • Maintain and improve preventative maintenance (PPM) programmes
  • Work with three-phase systems (up to 440V), motors, drives, and inverters
  • Maintain hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems
  • Support health & safety compliance and contribute to best practice
  • Write and review risk assessments, permits, and method statements
  • Use CAFM systems and mobile devices to plan and complete tasks
  • Liaise with clients and internal teams to resolve maintenance issues
  • Deputise for the Shift Leader as required
  • Work flexibly, including overtime, nights, and weekends when needed

About You

We’re looking for a proactive and skilled engineer with a strong background in manufacturing maintenance and a passion for problem‑solving.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Recognised apprenticeship (or equivalent)
  • Strong experience in manufacturing/industrial maintenance
  • Electrical qualifications (City & Guilds, 17th Edition or equivalent)
  • Mechanical qualifications (City & Guilds or equivalent)
  • Experience working with:
    • 3-phase systems, motors, drives, and inverters
    • Hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Strong fault‑finding and diagnostic skills
  • PLC diagnostic and repair experience
  • NVQ Level 2 (Electrical/Mechanical) or equivalent
  • Ability to supervise contractors and manage permits
  • Experience writing risk assessments and method statements

Desirable

  • Working at Height certification
  • IPAF licence
  • Authorised Person (AP) qualifications
  • Experience in heavy engineering environments
