Our client is recruiting for an Engineering Geologist / Senior Engineering Geologist to join a multidisciplinary civil, structural and geotechnical team in Leeds. You will deliver ground investigation, geotechnical design, reporting and project support across a range of UK projects with a strong focus on rail.
Responsibilities
- Produce and review interpretative geotechnical reports.
- Develop ground models and support geotechnical design.
- Undertake earthworks, slope and infrastructure assessments.
- Carry out Preliminary Risk Assessments and Mining Risk Assessments.
- Supervise ground investigations and site activities.
- Support project management, budgets, programmes and technical submissions.
- Attend client meetings, technical discussions and site visits.
- Mentor junior geologists and engineers.
- Promote quality, health, safety and environmental compliance.
Qualifications
- Degree in Geology or a related discipline.
- Around 6–8 years of relevant industry experience.
- Experience in rail, earthworks inspections and reporting.
- Experience producing Geotechnical Interpretative Reports and Mining Risk Assessments.
- Experience in ground investigation planning, specification, supervision and reporting.
- Knowledge of ground models, geotechnical design, UK standards and legislation.
- Ability to use geotechnical software and carry out hand calculations.
- Strong communication, organisation and client‑facing skills.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to site.
- MA in Engineering Geology, Geotechnical Engineering or a related field, and progress towards CGeol or CEng is beneficial.
Location & Compensation
Based in Leeds. Salary is dependent on experience.
