Salary: Negotiable - upwards from 45,000 DOE plus overtime

My client, a busy and ever-growing Plant Company, are looking for an experienced Plant Fitter to work mobile from Hampshire.

Key responsibilities:

  • Test vehicles and plant machinery and diagnose faults
  • Recognise and report vehicle/component defects or symptoms of impending failure
  • Service, adjust and repair vehicles/components
  • Electrical fault finding
  • Working on excavators, dumpers, rollers, and telehandlers
  • MIG and ARC Welding
  • Hydraulic repairs
  • Complete job records

Essential Qualities:

  • Previous experience in mechanics (preferably Plant, Construction vehicles, waste and recycling vehicles / HGV and agriculture)
  • Clear understanding of mechanical / hydraulic / electrical systems
  • Technical ability - strong electrical fault finding abilities
  • Qualification in plant, HGV, mechanical engineering is desirable
  • Full Driving licence
  • Computer literate - confident in using software to integrate with machines
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Team player, honest, reliable, trustworthy and a good time keeper
  • Ability to use own initiative
  • Literacy and numeracy skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Welding and Fabricating MIG and ARC Welding
  • Problem solving skills - logical approach to diagnostic tasks
  • Effective Communicator
