The Role
The role of Mechanical Design Engineer will involve creating bespoke designs on SolidEdge. Overseeing a cradle to grave design process, you will have responsibility for designing complex machinery composed of a variety of mechanical components. There are ongoing growth opportunities to manage full projects and liaise with customers directly.

  • Attend sales/project handover meetings and review customer specifications
  • Conduct site visits and surveys as required and develop machine concepts and layouts
  • Complete detailed 3D designs, calculations, and internal design reviews
  • Obtain customer approval, produce manufacturing drawings/BOMs, and support procurement and build
  • Assist with assembly, testing, installation, commissioning, snag resolution, and final project handover

The Candidate
To be successful in your application for this Mechanical Design Engineer role you will need:

  • Demonstratable experience in 3D modelling on any CAD platform
  • Experience working with sheet metal fabrication as well as moving components
  • Drive to upskill and progress in your design career
  • A full UK driving license for site visits
