We are currently recruiting for a skilled Mechanical Fitter to join a well-established and growing engineering company based in Bedford, known for delivering high-quality, bespoke engineering solutions to prestigious clients across the automotive and high-performance sectors, including brands such as Lotus and Bentley. This is an excellent opportunity to work on interesting, one-off builds and complex assemblies within a clean, modern workshop environment.

The Role:

  • Assembly of bespoke mechanical systems, machinery, and equipment
  • Working from detailed engineering drawings and technical specifications
  • Building precision components and sub-assemblies
  • Involvement in special purpose machinery and automated systems
  • Mechanical fitting, drilling, tapping, and general bench work
  • Supporting testing and commissioning where required

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter / Assembly Technician
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Strong hands-on mechanical assembly skills
  • Experience with precision engineering or bespoke machinery
  • Background in automotive, aerospace, or similar industries (desirable)
  • Good attention to detail and quality standards
