Alecto Recruitment are partnered with an established and growing company within the Anaerobic Digestion sector. Together, we are seeking an experienced Plant Operator to work on a 4 on 4 off pattern to support the Plant Manager in running the facility.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Adhering to site SOPs and safe working practices at all times
  • Supporting the day-to-day running of the Anaerobic Digestion plant in a safe and efficient manner
  • Carrying out process monitoring and routine daily testing, including DM, FOS/TAC, and Gas Quality
  • Operating and monitoring the plant through the SCADA system to ensure optimal performance
  • Running the straw line to prepare and process feedstock for the plant
  • Conducting visual inspections of plant and equipment to identify faults
  • Carrying out and documenting first-line maintenance tasks, including pump isolation and replacement, greasing, oil top-ups, and macerator checks
  • Loading feedstock into hoppers and the plant as required
  • Operating the weighbridge and managing associated documentation
  • Assisting in maintaining site compliance across all relevant requirements
  • Operating a Telehandler, 360 excavator, and other on-site plant machinery
  • Maintaining a clean, tidy, and organised site environment
  • Providing out-of-hours support and participating in the alarm call-out rota
  • Actively contributing to site operations and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Collecting lab samples and accurately recording results
  • Producing daily operational updates and shift handover reports

Your experience and skills:

  • A qualification in an engineering discipline would be preferred
  • Telehandler license / 360 excavator license / able to drive mobile plant
  • Must have experience as an Operator within a process environment, ideally anaerobic digestion
  • Performing basic maintenance activities by following written procedures
  • Being part of an on-call team
