We are looking for an experienced Tech Lead to join a growing engineering team focused on building scalable, high-quality digital products and platforms. This is a leadership-heavy role suited to someone who enjoys mentoring engineers, driving delivery, and helping shape engineering culture, whilst still maintaining strong technical credibility from a hands-on software engineering background. The successful candidate will work closely with engineering, product, and delivery teams to support project execution, technical decision-making, and team development across a modern cloud-native technology environment. We are looking for someone who enjoys leading people, solving complex technical problems, and helping engineering teams operate effectively at scale.
Key Responsibilities- Leading and mentoring a cross-functional engineering team
- Supporting engineers with technical guidance, coaching, and career development
- Managing delivery priorities and coordinating project execution across teams
- Helping shape engineering culture, standards, and best practices
- Collaborating with Product and Delivery stakeholders to ensure successful outcomes
- Supporting architectural and technical decision-making across platforms and services
- Driving continuous improvement across engineering processes, quality, and operational practices
- Helping teams balance delivery speed with long-term sustainability and platform quality
- Contributing to a collaborative and psychologically safe team environment
- Strong software engineering background with previous hands-on development experience
- Experience leading or mentoring engineering teams within agile environments
- Strong understanding of backend engineering principles and distributed systems
- Experience working with cloud-based infrastructure and modern engineering practices
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Experience supporting delivery across multiple technical initiatives
- Ability to balance technical leadership with people leadership responsibilities
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities
- Experience working with .NET and microservices architectures
- Knowledge of AWS cloud infrastructure and infrastructure-as-code practices
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, observability, and monitoring tooling
- Exposure to event-driven architecture patterns
- Experience helping scale engineering teams and processes within growing businesses
