Brief

Mobile Technical Operative needed for a well-known, large Facilities Management organisation based in Manchester who are looking to employ an experienced and well-rounded Mobile Technical Operative that takes pride in their work with an in-depth knowledge of planned and reactive maintenance on a wide variety of Mechanical and Electrical building services. The successful candidate would desirably have a relevant qualification – i.e. City & Guilds Mechanical Engineering Services NVQ Level 2 or Higher etc. – and have a keen interest in Technical Operations. If you have commercial experience in Mechanical Engineering that would be a plus!

What the role entails

Some of the main duties of the Mobile Technical Operative will include:

  • Ensure that routine PPM is carried out to all mechanical and electrical plant in accordance with Site task schedules and CAFM.
  • Ensure that reactive tasks throughout the sites are completed and be proactive in highlighting areas where improvements can be made.
  • Ensure that plant faults and defects are always swiftly remedied to maintain plant in serviceable order.
  • Ensure that suitable spares are available to carry out both maintenance and reactive works.
  • To provide parts lists and estimated timescales to carry out remedial works.
  • Carry out Mechanical Engineering tasks.
  • Fault finding, minor repairs and installation alongside general maintenance services.

The position will require you to provide engineering support in emergency situations to ensure business and operational continuity.

What experience you need to be the successful Mobile Technical Operative

  • Desired circa 5 years relevant experience working as a Mechanical Engineer within a FM environment
  • City and Guilds – Mechanical Engineering Services NVQ Level 2 or higher.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to deal with all levels of staff.
  • Proactive in achieving the highest standard of operation.
  • Have good IT and report writing skills.
