Overview
Respond are seeking skilled and reliable HGV Class 1 Drivers and Tramper drivers to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for transporting goods across various locations, ensuring timely and safe delivery. Trunking work, 1-2 drops per day and collection. 6AM Start Mondays at depot. This is general haulage, you will be required to strap loads. You will be operating a Curtain Sider lorry. If you're interested in the tramping, you will sleep in the lorry all week - Monday to Friday.
EXTRA: £25.00 PER NIGHT AWAY £10.00 MEAL ALLOWANCE PER DAY
Responsibilities
- Operate HGV Class 1 vehicles, for long-distance transportation of goods.
- Conduct pre-journey vehicle checks to ensure compliance with road safety regulations.
- Maintain accurate delivery records and complete necessary paperwork as required.
- Plan routes effectively to optimise delivery times while considering traffic and weather conditions.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members regarding delivery schedules and any potential issues.
- Adhere to driving regulations and company policies at all times.
Requirements
- Valid HGV Class 1 driving licence with no more than 6 points or endorsements (No TT99, no DR10, no IN10 allowed).
- Proven experience in commercial driving in a class 1 arctic.
- Strong understanding of road safety regulations and best practices in delivery driving.
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to work independently.
- Good communication skills for effective interaction with team members and clients.
- Ability to handle physical tasks associated with loading and unloading goods.
