We are recruiting for an experienced Design Engineer to work on a freelance basis for 12 months (maternity cover). You will be reporting into the Technical Director and working within the engineering team, responsible for undertaking the design of infrastructure and groundworks packages for residential developments.

- Working on roads, sewers and foundations
Job duties:
- Procure service records and enquiries for new developments.
- Undertake In-House Road and Sewer designs for new estate roads and Infrastructure.
- Prepare Groundwork pack designs for tender and construction issue.
- Undertake Drainage, Foundation and Levels appraisals to support land bids.
- Secure S38, S104, S185 & S278 legal agreements to suit the development programme.
- Obtain designs for foundations and where necessary have input into securing structural designs for superstructure components.
- Maintain a continuous process of evaluation of any Consultant’s designs to ensure that proposals adhere to best practice in value Engineering.
Job requirements:
- Individual who is educated to HNC/HND level in an Engineering related discipline with a minimum of 5 years post qualification experience.
- Previous experience in a design related environment, preferably with Civil or Structural Consulting Engineers.
- Ability to confidently handle negotiations with external bodies, including sewerage undertakers and highway authorities.
- Ability to co-ordinate with all members of the design team to ensure programmes are met.
